I am talking about people who harness the man-made environment they are in to increase the odds of changing their current habits. These “environmentalists” have realized they can rely on more than willpower and perseverance to make a change. But how?

Pro actively lazy
Being pro-actively lazy could mean you apply a habit or system that, over time, saves you precious effort—mental effort, emotional effort, physical effort, or even having to make a similar decision repeatedly.
To be lazy in the near future, one often has to be active in the present.

Disturbing images on the internet.
There are quite a few disturbing images on the internet. Some are blocked by turning on the kids’ filter, and others are shared in that one group chat with friends from college.

Put on your dancing shoes
Feel the rhythm, move left when your partner moves right. One step back, two steps forward.

Good enough.
Your definition of success and the limits you put around how you want to aim for that success will determine what you want to optimize versus what is good enough.

Health precedes performance
Would you be able to perform the way you want in case you are not healthy? In case you are sick, injured, or hurt?

Motivation ≠ Perseverance
Motivation is not just perseverance. It is not fortitude or mental toughness either.
