It depends…
Very few questions related to health have a binary and straightforward answer.
The characteristics of the individual heavily influence most answers. Just like the circumstances they live in now and the context they are in now.
The value of the answer “it depends” then lies not in the answer itself but in the reasoning and explanation for it.
You only ask a question related to your health if you are not sure of the answer yourself. Human nature makes people come up with answers to questions they are asked, whether they are experts at the subject matter or not.
Oftentimes, the less “an expert” knows, the more sure they are of their answer, hence the more binary and straightforward their answer is.
“Experts” who have studied a bit more about the subject matter and/or have some experience in it are more inclined to explain their reasoning and nuance their answers.
But the true experts, the ones with experience and excellent results over a prolonged time, might be able to give you a straightforward and binary answer again.
So, what you could do to safeguard yourself from oversimplification is to always follow up a straightforward and binary answer by asking why.
If there’s no time for that, or the explanation is shaky, ask somebody else.
