The voice inside your head

Do you ever talk to yourself? Out loud, or just inside your head?

Do you give a little compliment to your reflection in the mirror, just as an affirmation?

Do you encourage yourself to get going, stop complaining, not give up, or try a different strategy?

Isn’t it remarkable that when a friend or family member falls short of an important goal, we console them with a detached wisdom that we don’t apply to our self-talk? In that case, I guess we treat ourselves differently from how we like to treat others.

You get to decide if the way you speak to yourself helps or hurts your progress.

If you are talking to yourself, who is listening to you speak to yourself?

You get to decide if the way you listen to your self-talk helps or hurts your progress.
